About the Press

In 2017, the board of directors of the Argentine Society of Philosophical Analysis (SADAF) decided to establish a publishing house under the same name. Editorial SADAF’s primary goal is to offer the philosophical community a new opportunity to publish high-quality academic books on various topics within analytic philosophy, including areas such as metaphysics, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, epistemology, philosophy of science, philosophy of technology, ethics, aesthetics, and political philosophy. As is well known, the increase in editorial options has not kept pace with the growth of philosophical production in these fields. The main motivation behind this project is to fill that gap. This purpose is an integral part of the institution's fundamental goals: the promotion of free intellectual exchange and rational discussion.

Until 2025, the publishing house was organized into four collections, reflecting the different types of academic work fostered by the institution since its origins in 1972:

  • Originals: individual academic research works (including adapted versions of doctoral theses).
  • Compilations: collections of articles on a common theme, produced within one or more research teams (often derived from workshops or other scientific events).
  • Translations: Spanish versions of relevant works in analytic philosophy.
  • Texts: educational or outreach materials intended for courses and seminars.

Starting in 2025, we aim not only to maintain and strengthen these four lines but also to explore new editorial forms and formats that keep pace with contemporary philosophical research and expand the reach of our publications.

To this end, we have added a new category:

  • Reports: documents presenting results or developments within institutional or collaborative research (including technical reports, progress reports, lab reports, white papers, policy papers, etc.) with the purpose of contributing to the understanding of a problem or to decision-making.

In this new stage, all books are published under the Open Access model. Each publication receives an ISBN and a DOI for the complete book; in the case of compilations, an individual DOI is assigned to each chapter.

Editorial SADAF actively promotes this new modality by publishing reviews and critical notes of its books in Análisis Filosófico (recently indexed as Q1 in Scopus).

As a non-profit organization, under this model, we charge only for production costs—typesetting and layout, copyright, registration, and obtaining the ISBN and DOI.

We accept submissions in Spanish, Portuguese, and English across all five categories (Originals, Compilations, Translations, Texts, and Reports).
