About the Press

In 2017, the board of the Argentine Society for Philosophical Analysis (SADAF) decided to establish a publishing house under the same name. The main goal of Editorial SADAF is to offer the philosophical community a new opportunity to publish high-quality academic books on various topics in analytic philosophy, including areas such as metaphysics, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, epistemology, philosophy of science, ethics, aesthetics, and political philosophy. As is well known, there has not been a corresponding increase in publishing opportunities to match the growing philosophical output in these areas. The main motivation behind this project is to fill that gap. This purpose is an integral part of the institution’s fundamental goals—namely, the promotion of free intellectual exchange and rational discussion.

The publishing house has four series, reflecting the different types of work that have been fostered within the institution since its founding in 1972:

Originals: individual academic research works (including adapted versions of doctoral theses);
Collections: sets of papers on a common topic produced within one or more research teams (they may reflect the work developed in a workshop or other scientific event);
Translations: Spanish versions of major works in analytic philosophy;
Textbooks: educational or outreach material for use in teaching courses and seminars.

The intended readers of these series are academics and advanced students of philosophy and related disciplines.
